Frequently asked questions

Is IV sedation dentistry safe?

IV sedation is well established when administered and monitored by trained professionals. At The Denture Gallery it is supported by a board-certified anesthesiologist on staff, with vital-sign monitoring throughout. Your health history is reviewed first.

Will I be unconscious?

IV sedation produces a deeply relaxed, drowsy state — not general anesthesia. Many patients remember little of the procedure but are not fully unconscious.

Who should consider sedation?

Patients with dental anxiety, a strong gag reflex, difficulty getting numb, or those needing longer or more complex treatment often benefit most.

Do I need someone to drive me home?

Yes. Because sedation effects linger, you will need a responsible adult to drive you home. We provide full pre- and post-sedation instructions.

Can I have extractions and dentures done under sedation?

Yes — IV sedation is commonly used for extractions, including full-mouth extractions, and immediate dentures can be placed the same day.
